Privacy at a glance
Tiko Alarm helps you create alarms, complete wake-up missions, receive reminders, and optionally discourage snoozing by temporarily blocking apps you choose.
Local by design
Alarm settings and preferences are stored on your device.
You stay in control
Optional permissions can be changed in device settings.
No data sales
We do not sell or rent your personal information.
Information handled by Tiko
The app may process the following information to provide the features you choose:
- Alarm and preference data
Alarm times, labels, repeat schedules, sounds, snooze settings, themes, missions, and onboarding choices.
- Mission progress
Information needed to verify a mission, such as answers, steps, or a scanned code.
- Selected blocked apps
System-provided identifiers for apps you choose for Snooze Penalty. Selection is managed through device controls.
- Basic device state
Permission status, app state, and operating-system information required for alarms to work reliably.
- Usage analytics and crash reports
Screens viewed, features used (such as alarm and mission settings, snoozes, and purchase attempts), app version, device model, operating system, and crash diagnostics. These are tied to a random app-instance identifier, not to your name or contact details, and advertising identifiers are not collected.
No account is required. Tiko does not currently operate an account system or collect your name, contacts, or precise location.
How Face Match handles face data
- Analyzed on deviceCamera frames are deleted right after analysis
- Encrypted locallyStored in the Keychain, this device only
- Never uploadedNot sent to us, our servers or third parties
Face Match is an optional mission. It is used only if you choose it, and the camera is used only after you grant permission. Face Match works entirely on your device: face data is never sent to us, to our servers, or to any third party.
- What face data is collected
When you capture a face, Tiko creates a face signature: a list of 128 numbers calculated on your device by a face recognition model built into the app. Tiko also saves the name you type for that face and a small (320 × 320 pixel) portrait photo, which is only shown in the saved-faces list so you can tell faces apart. While a Face Match mission is running, camera frames are analyzed on the device to calculate a signature and are deleted right after analysis. Tiko does not collect Face ID data or any other biometric data from the system.
- How face data is used
Face data is used only to check whether the face in front of the camera matches a face you saved, so the alarm can be dismissed. It is not used to identify people, for advertising, for analytics, for profiling, or to train any model, and it is not used for any other purpose.
- Where face data is stored
Only on your device. Face signatures and names are stored encrypted in the iOS Keychain (Android Keystore-backed encrypted storage on Android), set to “this device only”, so they are not synced to iCloud or copied to other devices. Portraits are stored in the app’s private storage on the device. Because portraits are ordinary app files, they may be included in your own encrypted device backup; if a backup is restored to a device, Tiko deletes those portraits because their signatures were not restored.
- Sharing
Face data is not shared with anyone. No face signatures, portraits, face names or camera images are uploaded, sent to Firebase Analytics, Firebase Crashlytics or RevenueCat, or disclosed to any third party. Face detection and recognition run on the device using Apple’s on-device Vision framework (Google ML Kit on Android) and the built-in recognition model, without a network connection.
- Retention and deletion
A saved face is kept on your device until you delete it. You can delete a face at any time by holding it in the saved-faces list; this immediately and permanently deletes its signature, name and portrait. Mission camera frames are not retained at all. We recommend deleting saved faces in the app before uninstalling it.
Why Tiko asks for access
Tiko requests access only when it supports a feature. You can decline optional permissions, although the related feature may not work.
Alarms & notifications
Used to schedule alarms, show reminders, play alarm sounds, and display alarm controls—even when the app is not open.
Motion & activity
Used only when you choose a mission or feature that needs step or motion information.
Screen Time & app blocking
If you enable Snooze Penalty, Tiko uses iOS Screen Time or Android Accessibility access to block only the apps you select for the interval you choose.
Camera
Used only for missions and features you choose, such as Face Match, photo, push-up and squat missions, QR and barcode scanning, and the flashlight. Camera frames are analyzed on your device and are not uploaded. Face Match is described in detail in the “Face Match data” section.
You control your data and permissions
Review or revoke notifications, motion, camera, Screen Time, or Accessibility access in your device settings.
Delete individual alarms in Tiko. Delete a saved face by holding it in the Face Match saved-faces list. Removing the app also removes locally stored app data, subject to your device backup settings.
Turn the feature off or change selected apps and blocking intervals at any time.
